Redirecting existing URL folder links to a new folder link

Obselete. Refer to Internal Web docs

Example :-

Existing URL = av.comp.nus.edu.sg/coppemine/album/urop2015/index.html

You have created a new folder = "photos" , and you want to redirect all exisiting links with URL "/coppermine/album" to this new folder :-

new URL = av.comp.nus.edu.sg/photos/urop2015/index.html

Hence you want the system to automatically change "/coppermine/album/" to "/photos/" :-

# vi /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf

Look for "# Supplemental configuration"   (usually towards the bottom of the file).

Add in this line :-

Redirect permanent "/coppermine/albums/" "/photos/"

Save and restart Apache.
