During this maintenance, we are not expecting any network access disruption. The purpose of this maintenance is to replace the UPS.

1. From 1 Sep 2017: The "NUS" SSID will be restricted to NUS Staff accounts only, and only for devices that can support 5 GHz band. Staff with devices without 5 GHz band support should use the "NUS_2-4GHz" SSID.

2. The following new SSIDs are already available: 

  •  NUS_2-4GHz: For NUS Staff accounts only. This SSID is provisioned only on the 2.4 GHz band in order to support devices which are only 2.4 GHz capable. Staff with

dual-band devices or devices which support 5 GHz only should use the regular "NUS" SSID.

  • NUS_STU: For NUS Student accounts only. This SSID is provisioned only on the 5 GHz band. Devices without 5 GHz band support should use the "NUS_STU_2-4GHz" SSID.
  • NUS_STU_2-4GHz: For NUS Student accounts only. This SSID is provisioned only on the 2.4 GHz band in order to support devices which are only 2.4 GHz capable.

Students with dual-band devices or devices which support 5 GHz should use the "NUS_STU" SSID.

  • NUSOPEN: This is an Open Wi-Fi network for NUS Visitor accounts only. It is available on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band. NUS Visitor accounts must use this SSID.

There will be scheduled network maintenance as follows:

03 Nov 2016 from 7 pm to 10 pm: Affecting network at COM2 Basement, Level 1 and Level 2 (network points: C2-1-B-x, C2-1-1-x and C2-1-2-x)

During this time, wired and wireless network access to the affected areas will be disrupted. The purpose of this maintenance is to upgrade the network edge switches firmware serving the respective locations.

During this maintenance, network connections from Computer Room 2 [@S17] will be completely disrupted. The purpose of this maintenance is for fibre optic cable diversion required for S9 building structural changes.
